Description:
This saw blade is specially designed for precision cutting of compact materials such as DuPont Corian®, Montelli®, LG HI-MACS®, Staron®, Avonite®, Technistone® and thick-walled plastics. Its design ensures clean and precise cuts, ideal for professional results in a wide range of hard and brittle materials.
Advantages and characteristics of the trapezoidal tooth (TCG):
- Durability and long life: the trapezoidal teeth have a high wear resistance thanks to their wider top edge. This is particularly important when cutting hard materials such as aluminium, brass, laminate or plastics where conventional teeth would quickly lose their sharpness. TCG ensures longer blade life, which you will appreciate with frequent use.
- Combination of trapezoidal and straight teeth: discs with TCG teeth often alternate between trapezoidal and straight teeth. The trapezoidal tooth pre-cuts the material and the straight tooth then cleans it, ensuring a clean, smooth and precise cut, crucial for fragile materials that chip or break off easily.
- Ideal for hard and brittle materials: The trapezoidal tooth is great for cutting materials such as laminate, melamine, MDF, plastics, composites and non-ferrous metals. Thanks to its shape, it offers greater stability when cutting and minimises the risk of chipping the surface. This type of tooth is not suitable for solid wood because it is not able to cut material quickly, which would lead to burning of the wood.
- Negative forehead angle: In combination with the negative face angle, this blade provides a very precise and controlled cut. The cut is not as aggressive, but very clean, which is ideal for materials that tend to chip or break off.
- Slower but cleaner cut: The trapezoidal tooth is not designed for fast cuts. The main advantage lies in cleanliness and accuracy, not in speed. The cut is slower, but the surface quality is at a very high level, which is particularly desirable for materials such as melamine or plastics.
Neutral back angle (0° angle):
- Characteristic: The back of the tooth is parallel to the surface of the material.
- Features: Neutral spine angle provides a balanced compromise between cutting performance and blade life. The cut is not as aggressive, but remains effective enough. This angle is often used on discs that need to be versatile and work well on a variety of materials.
- Use: Suitable for a wide range of materials, especially where more versatility is needed.
Summary of the advantages of the trapezoid tooth (TCG):
- High resistance and durability when cutting hard materials.
- Clean and precise cut thanks to the combination of trapezoidal and straight teeth.
- Ideal for non-ferrous metals, laminates, plastics and composites.
- The negative face angle provides greater control and minimizes material chipping.
- It is not suitable for solid wood as it does not provide a fast cut.
Recommendations for use:
The number of teeth, their shape and the angle of the saw blade tooth face determine which material the blade is suitable for and the quality of the cut. Fewer teeth provide a faster cut but reduce the quality of the cut, while more teeth provide a cleaner cut but at the expense of speed.
The blade should only overhang the material by the height of the SK tooth slice, which ensures the best cut quality. This approach provides a clean and smooth cut while minimising the risk of accidents.
Suitable for:
Hand circular (circular) saws.
