Product detailed description
Spray boats, also known as"plugs", are a practical tool for repairing defects in growing wood, such as pitch sprains, cracks and voids that can develop over time. Although these imperfections may appear to add character to the wood, they can sometimes compromise its structural integrity or aesthetic acceptability for certain applications. For example, in the manufacture of furniture, doors, window frames or even wooden floors, these defects can cause problems.
These boats are available in a variety of wood species including spruce, pine, beech, oak, larch and ash, allowing for easy integration into the material being repaired. When selecting the right type of wood for a boathouse, it is important to consider not only the colour and texture, but also physical properties such as hardness and stability to ensure that the repair will be durable in the long term and that the boathouse will not show as a weak point in the overall structure.
The process of applying a dump boat is quite precise and requires expert craftsmanship.
A laminating mill, the equipment necessary for this process, is equipped with a special disc for the removal of tough, resinous areas that may be present in the wood. With care and precision, the craftsman selects a boat with the appropriate characteristics that not only fits perfectly into the prepared space, but also harmonises with the surrounding wood structure. This dispatching part is named "boat" because of its characteristic shape, which resembles a small, elegant boat. This is then carefully glued into the hole to ensure a stable and firm connection with the surrounding material.
Replacing the damaged part of the timber with a repair part is not only a matter of aesthetic improvement, but is also crucial to ensure the overall stability and structural integrity of the timber element in question. In this way, we not only preserve the appearance and value of the woodwork, but also prolong its life and sustainability for future generations, which is a fundamental prerequisite for traditional craftsmanship and the care of our heritage.
