Japanese Ryoba saws
You can recognize a Japanese Ryoba saw by the saw blade, which is sharpened on both sides. One side is designed for cross-cutting and the other for longitudinal cutting. That is why Ryoba saws have universal use. If you're only thinking of buying one Japanese wood saw, it should be the Ryoba. These saws come in many sizes and with different specifications. The right Ryoba will do the job with fine and coarser cuts.
On the longitudinal cutting side, the teeth of the saw gradually increase in size from the handle and thus their pitch increases. This design ensures that it is easier to cut the saw into the wood using smaller teeth. The larger teeth then take care of the cutting speed.
