Product detailed description
Description:
The steel of these semi-professional Japanese chisels consists of two parts. A softer part that is in the handle and a significantly harder cutting surface. The hard cutting surface ensures a perfect cut of the wood and the softer part effectively absorbs blows.
The chisels are made by laminating a layer of high quality carbon steel and hardened to a hardness of 62 Rc.
They have a concave (bulging) back. This hollow back makes work and especially grinding easier. Without this hollow element, you would find that sharpening a chisel blade of similar hardness is time consuming and almost impossible to keep flat over many sharpenings.
The steel ring on the back significantly extends the life of the handle.
These chisels are suitable for both experienced and less experienced woodworkers and have excellent results.
Sharpen Japanese chisels with 1000 and 3000 grinding stones.
